We have just returned after a one night stay at the Haytor Hotel. We couldn't have been more impressed. The hotel is beautiful and so are the stunning gardens. We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean and maintained beautifully. It has a great relaxing atmosphere, just what we needed. The hosts John and Jane were so welcoming and friendly making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay, which we did. Tea and cake was a lovely touch on arrival. Breakfast was amazing, a huge selection was available and cooked to order, fresh and piping hot and super delicious. Would 100% recommend this hotel and if we ever visit Torquay again the Haytor would be the hotel of choice. Thank you John and Jane, a fantastic hotel with fantastic hosts.

This is hands down the best hotel we have ever stayed in!! The Haytor only has 12 bedrooms, so John and Jane are able to give you the most friendly, personalised service you will ever receive. They and their staff keep the hotel absolutely spotlessly clean and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel decor is beautiful, loved the garden and terrace area too and we absolutely loved our room. We booked Room 8, one of their suites, as we were staying for a full 2 weeks, so really appreciated the extra space and comfort it provided. Amazing superking sized bed!! Really comfortable!! Jane’s breakfasts were cooked to perfection and John’s table service was friendly and efficient, no matter how busy they were. Again, nothing was too much trouble and they waited on you hand and foot. The location of the Haytor Hotel was just perfect being set a 5 minute walk back from the busyness of the harbour, but still in perfect walking distance of many superb restaurants right on the doorstep!! We loved Torquay itself and also appreciated using it as a base to explore the wider area. We did sooooo much and completely filled our 2 weeks in South Devon. We are gutted that we live so far away as we know that we would absolutely use the Haytor Hotel as a regular bolt hole if we lived nearer. We chatted to many friendly other visitors staying at the hotel and they were literally all returning customers that have been visiting for many years because they love it so much. Thank you Jane and John for such a memorable stay

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Haytor Hotel, and what a wonderful experience it was from start to finish. The hotel is simply beautiful, the decor is stylish, elegant, and full of charm, creating an atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The location is ideal, being just a short stroll to Torquay harbour, yet set far enough back to enjoy true peace and quiet. It's the perfect balance of accessibility and tranquility. The on-site car parking was a huge plus, and the beautifully maintained gardens provided a lovely spot to sit with a drink in the afternoon sun or during the early evening, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, are the hosts. John and Jane are outstanding, so warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. They go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and looked after. Breakfast was a particular highlight: everything was fresh, top-quality, and delicious. Jane clearly works magic in the kitchen, while John ensures everything runs smoothly, always attentive and happy to help. Our bedroom was absolutely delightful, incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. It really felt like a luxurious retreat. We can't recommend The Haytor Hotel highly enough. If you're looking for a peaceful escape with exceptional hospitality and thoughtful details throughout, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be returning! Ruth & Mark.
